Settlement Strategy

Between March 2010 and January 2011, our Partnership Council embarked on a planning process aimed at developing a local settlement strategy to improve access to and coordination of newcomer services, and to facilitate newcomer settlement and integration in the Eglinton East-Kennedy Park neighbourhood of Scarborough.

The planning process explored the challenges faced by newcomers and immigrants as well as the experiences of the Eglinton East-Kennedy Park settlement sector in working with newcomers to enable a greater understanding of how they might be best supported in the community.

The result of this process was the Eglinton East-Kennedy Park Local Settlement Strategy. Click the cover page below to access the strategy document.

Moving forward, our goal is to use this settlement strategy as a catalyst to encourage all stakeholders to consider every possible way for Eglinton East-Kennedy Park to maximize its potential and improve the quality of life for newcomers to Canada.
